Seine Bight is a friendly small Garifuna village with around 700 inhabitants just three miles north of Placencia. This traditional Garifuna village, located by the beach, makes an interesting destination if you are looking for an authentic Garifuna experience.

According to legend Seine Bight was founded by pirates in 1629 and the name was given by immigrant French fishermen arriving after they were expelled from Canada when Britain took control. The Garifuna settled in Seine Bight around 1869.
Seine Bight has a primary school. You will find several small restaurants and bars serving traditional Garifuna and Belizean foods.
